Archaeological Monuments of Vaio

Archaeological monuments of Vaio belong to the Late Bronze Age, the end of the 2nd millennium BC – the beginning of the 1st millennium BC. They were discovered in 1992–1993 in the village of Vaio (Keda Municipality), on the left bank of the Ajaristskali River. A jug decorated with flutes, bronze hair accessories (4 pcs.), a ring and a large bead were found. A cultural layer was identified, where the fragments of plaster and clay vessels were found. Based on the discovered material, it is probable that there was a dwelling and a necropolis. There are copper deposits in the village of Vaio. Presumably, items necessary for the burial ritual were made there.
