Kaladze Kakha

Kakha Kaladze (born February 27, 1978, Samtredia) is a political and state figure, as well as a former football player. He graduated from the Faculty of History at Tbilisi State University (2003). He is a two-time winner of the UEFA Champions League (2003, 2007) as a member of AC Milan (Italy); winner of the FIFA Club World Cup (2007); Italian Serie A champion (2004) and Coppa Italia winner (2003); and winner of the Supercoppa Italiana (2004) and the UEFA Super Cup (2007).

Throughout his career, he played for Samtredia (1993), Dinamo Tbilisi (1994–97), Dynamo Kyiv (Ukraine, 1998–2000), AC Milan (2001–10), and Genoa (2010–12). He played 75 matches in the Umaglesi Liga (the top tier of the Georgian championship). He is a three-time champion of Georgia (1996–98) and a three-time champion of Ukraine (1998–2000). He is also a two-time winner of the Georgian Cup (1996–97) and a three-time winner of the Ukrainian Cup (1998–2000). He was named Georgian Footballer of the Year five times (2001–03, 2006, 2011). Kaladze was a member of the Georgian National Team, earning 83 caps, and served as the team captain from 2004 to 2011. In May 2013, his testimonial farewell match, featuring international football stars, was held at the Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi.

He is the founder of the international investment group "Kala Capital" (2007). He served as a member of the Supervisory Board of "Progress Bank" (2008) and is the founder of the "Kala Foundation" charitable organization (2008).

Kaladze has been actively engaged in political affairs since 2011, when he became a member of the Political Council of the party "Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia." He served as the Minister of Energy of Georgia (2012–17) and Vice Prime Minister of Georgia (2012–17). He became the General Secretary of the "Georgian Dream" party in 2013 and has served as the Mayor of Tbilisi since 2017.

He has been decorated with the Order of Vakhtang Gorgasali.
