Kh. Inasaridze

Inasaridze Khvedri, (born December 6, 1932, Paris), mathematician. Academician of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences (2001; Corresponding Member 1989). Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (1972), Professor (1987).

He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Tbilisi State University (1958). The same year, he began working at the A. Razmadze Mathematical Institute of the Georgian Academy of Sciences as a scientific researcher, and later as a leading scientific researcher (1986–1989). Since 1989, he has been the head of the institute's algebra department. From 1990 to 1997, he was the president of the Georgian National Mathematical Committee, and since 2006, he has been the head of the Tbilisi Centre for Mathematical Sciences.

He engages in pedagogical activities at various higher educational institutions in Georgia (1966–2012 – Tbilisi State University, 1995–2003 – the Meskheti branch of Tbilisi State University, since 2015 – Georgian Technical University).

The principal areas of his scientific research are: homological and homotopical algebra, K-theory of associative rings, noncommutative geometry, homology theories, algebraic topology, and category theory.

Inasaridze is the founder and editor-in-chief of several international mathematical journals: "Homology, Homotopy and Applications" (1998–2006), "Journal of Homotopy and Related Structures" (since 2006), and "Tbilisi Mathematical Journal" (since 2008); he is also a member of the editorial board of the international mathematical journal "Georgian Mathematical Journal" (since 2006).

He is the recipient of the A. Razmadze Prize of the Georgian Academy of Sciences (1998) and the Khwarizmi International First Prize for Science and Technology of Iran (1999).
