Ketashvili Gela

Ketashvili Gela (b. September 27, 1965, Tbilisi), a prominent football player. He is an Olympic Champion (1988, Seoul) and was designated an Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (1989).

Throughout his club career, he played for Torpedo Kutaisi (1983), Dinamo Tbilisi (1984–1990; 1995), Guria Lanchkhuti (1991), and Tetri Artsivi (1993–1994). He made 164 appearances and scored 4 goals in the USSR Top League championships. In 1989, he served as the team captain for Dinamo Tbilisi.

On the international stage, Ketashvili made 11 appearances for the USSR Olympic team between 1986 and 1988, culminating in a gold medal at the Seoul Olympics.

He is widely recognized as one of the finest defenders in the history of Georgian football.
